Contura 880 wood stove with honed granite hearth.
-
-
Twin wall chimney used in Contura installation.
-
-
This was a 1980s fireplace in an old farmhouse.
-
-
We opened out the fireplace, removing all the infill brickwork, and took out the old hearth, putting a new sandstone hearth down on the footprint of the old one. Finally, the chimney was lined and a beautiful Esse 100 stove fitted.
-
-
Before. Crazy paving and a 1980s gas fire.
-
-
After. We disconnected the gas fire, removed the fireplace and created a new Indian stone hearth. Even unfinished it looks so much better! The stove is a super efficient Burley Hollywell.
-
-
Before. A small brick fireplace, smoked-stained concrete lintel and a firebasket.
-
-
After. Greatly improved! Large fireplace area, rendered inside, with a nicer hearth. The stove is a Charnwood Country 4.
-
-
We demolished this tired and dated surround, opened up the fireplace and installed a highly efficient Burley Brampton wood stove.
-
-
We left the customer with a simple, elegant fireplace and a highly efficient stove. The Burley stove has a huge expanse of glass to give a fantastic view of the fire.
-
-
This Burley Wakerley 12kW wood stove replaced a leaky old stove which had caused a frightening chimney fire!
-
-
Another Cosi installation of a Burley stove. An example of how a simple design can work really well in a very traditional fireplace.
-
-
An unattractive fireplace which we were asked to update.
-
-
We took it right down and rebuilt in a more sympathetic brick, using an aged oak beam and a York stone slab hearth. Wow, what a difference!
-
-
This Charnwood Island II installation involved opening out the fireplace and fitting a new granite hearth.
-
-
Charnwood Cove 1 in gun metal. We did let the customer know that although it looks lovely, you really shouldn’t stack wood so close to the stove!
-
-
Another installation of a beautiful Charnwood Island stove.
-
-
The original fireplace was a terrible 1950s tiled job with no room for manoeuvre, as the actual hole couldn’t be widened.
-
-
We closed the fireplace completely and built a false chimney breast in front of it that would take a larger stove more in keeping with the room. This is the result. It is a lovely Burley Hollywell stove, on a grey slate hearth. The chimney breast is plastered, with painted render inside.
